MedHealth Ultrasound is an independent, sonographer-led diagnostic ultrasound service providing private appointments in Portsmouth and Southampton.
Unlike a general clinic offering ultrasound alongside unrelated services, our entire clinical service is built around ultrasound. Our specialist expertise, equipment, clinical governance and patient pathways are all focused on providing high-quality diagnostic examinations and clear, reliable answers.
Our clinical service is led by Andrea Drackett, an experienced HCPC-registered sonographer who has performed more than 80,000 ultrasound examinations during her career.
Dedicated to ultrasound
MedHealth was created around a simple belief: accessing an ultrasound quickly should never mean compromising on clinical quality.
We are not simply a clinic with access to an ultrasound machine. We are a specialist ultrasound provider led by professionals who understand what ultrasound can show, how examinations should be performed and when another investigation may be more appropriate.
Every patient is given time to explain their concerns, receive a detailed examination and have their findings communicated clearly and sensitively.
MedHealth Ultrasound is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and every examination is performed by an experienced, HCPC-registered sonographer working within their specialist area of practice.

Andrea is a highly experienced diagnostic sonographer who has performed more than 80,000 ultrasound examinations during her career.
She has particular expertise in pelvic and gynaecological ultrasound, including the assessment of fibroids, ovarian cysts, PCOS, adenomyosis, suspected endometriosis and post-menopausal symptoms.
Andrea leads MedHealth’s clinical service and has shaped its approach around three essential principles: listening carefully, examining thoroughly and explaining findings in language patients can understand.
She recognises that many patients arrive feeling anxious, concerned or frustrated after living with unexplained symptoms. Her approach is calm, sensitive and straightforward, helping patients feel listened to, respected and fully informed throughout their appointment.

Roma is a highly experienced specialist diagnostic sonographer with more than a decade of experience in medical imaging.
She is a Clinical Lead Specialist Sonographer at Queen Alexandra Hospital and specialises in complex ultrasound assessment of the thyroid, lymph nodes, salivary glands and other head and neck concerns.
Within her NHS practice, Roma works in rapid-access and one-stop neck clinics and performs ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration procedures.
Roma is actively involved in clinical audit, research, education and service development. She has presented at the British Medical Ultrasound Society and the European Congress of Radiology.
At MedHealth, Roma provides specialist diagnostic thyroid and neck ultrasound examinations, bringing extensive clinical expertise to patients who need a detailed and focused assessment.

Mark is an experienced diagnostic radiographer and specialist musculoskeletal sonographer with postgraduate qualifications in musculoskeletal ultrasound and medical imaging.
His specialist ultrasound practice focuses on the assessment of muscles, tendons, joints and other soft-tissue structures. He provides detailed examinations for patients experiencing pain, restricted movement, suspected tendon injury, joint problems or other musculoskeletal symptoms.
Mark combines his diagnostic imaging background with focused ultrasound expertise to provide clear, clinically relevant examinations and reports.
At MedHealth, Mark provides specialist musculoskeletal ultrasound assessments, ensuring patients are examined by a practitioner with dedicated training and expertise in this area.

Time to listen
We do not believe patients should feel rushed. Your sonographer will discuss your symptoms and relevant medical history before carrying out a focused and detailed examination.
Clear explanations
Where clinically appropriate, your findings will be explained during your appointment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and understand what the scan has shown.
Same-day reports
A comprehensive written report is normally provided on the same day and can be shared with your GP, consultant or another healthcare professional.
Honest clinical guidance
Ultrasound is not the right investigation for every symptom. If we do not believe a scan is appropriate or likely to provide the answers you need, we will tell you honestly and advise you about the most suitable next step.
