Practical information for your MedHealth Ultrasound appointment in Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham or Chichester.

Booking, payment and cancellations

Most scans can be booked directly. The examination, price and clinic you select are confirmed when you book. We provide diagnostic ultrasound for adults aged 18 and over; examinations remain subject to clinical suitability.

You can cancel or rearrange without charge by giving at least 24 hours’ notice. For cancellations within 24 hours or missed appointments, the appointment fee may be retained. Exceptional circumstances can be considered individually. If MedHealth cancels your appointment, we will offer an alternative appointment or a full refund of the amount paid for that service.

To change an appointment, call 02392 064601 or email [email protected]. Nothing in this summary limits your statutory rights.

Our free rescan promise

If a repeat ultrasound is clinically required to follow up a cyst or another finding, a repeat scan within six months is included at no additional cost. Your sonographer will explain whether follow-up is required and the appropriate timing. Contact us to arrange the repeat examination recommended by your sonographer.

Complaints, concerns and compliments

We welcome your feedback. Raising a concern will never affect the care or respect you receive. Tell a member of staff if you feel comfortable doing so; many concerns can be resolved promptly.

For a formal complaint, contact Andrea Drackett, Registered Manager, at [email protected], call 02392 064601, or write to MedHealth Ultrasound Ltd, 112 Milton Road, Portsmouth, PO3 6AR. Please describe what happened, when it happened and how you would like us to help. Avoid sending more sensitive information than is needed initially.

We will acknowledge your complaint, explain the investigation process and keep you informed. You may ask someone to act for you with your consent. Tell us if you need a different format or a reasonable adjustment.

You can also share your experience with CQC. CQC uses feedback to monitor services and does not normally resolve individual complaints.

Your consent, comfort and support

Your sonographer will explain the examination and obtain your consent. You can ask questions, decline any part of the examination, or ask to pause or stop at any time. An internal transvaginal scan is optional and requires your explicit consent.

A chaperone will be offered for intimate examinations. You can request a trained chaperone for any examination. Please contact us before booking if you need an interpreter, additional time, mobility support, a supporter or another adjustment. We will discuss what can be provided safely at your chosen clinic.

Clinical leadership and registration

MedHealth is a specialist sonographer-led ultrasound service. Meet Andrea Drackett and our specialist team. You can check a clinician’s registration with HCPC.

For explanations of reports and onward-care options, see support after your scan. An ultrasound cannot identify or exclude every condition and does not replace other medical care.

We use personal information to arrange appointments, provide care, prepare reports, communicate results, process payments and respond to enquiries or complaints, and to meet clinical governance, safeguarding and regulatory duties. You can ask how information is used, request access to your records or ask us to correct inaccurate details.
